How many of you out there are sending senior questionnaires to your clients before sessions? Client questionnaires are one of the most important things you can do before a session with your clients! It will allow you to customize the session to fit their personality and create a connection with them before you ever take a photo. Plus they’ll start thinking about their session more and get more invested into the experience.
Here are 15 things to include in your senior questionnaires, in addition to their basic information, that you can use to get to know your clients:
When is your birthday?
What school do you go to? What year will you graduate?
Who are some of your favorite musicians?
What are your social media handles?
What extracurricular activities are you involved in?
What are your hobbies and interests?
What do you and your friends do for fun?
What are your post-high school plans?
How did you hear about me?
Tell me about your style. Where are your favorite places to shop?
Do you have a specific location or type of location (urban, nature, etc) you would like for your session?
Is there anything special you would like to do during your session?
Do you have any ideas for specific images? (Be detailed as possible.)
How do you plan to display your photos? (albums, digital files, canvases, etc.)
Do you have anything else you would like to share with me?
This is just one of the ways a client questionnaire can be used and putting them together is quick and easy. With every questionnaire, you need to figure out what your goal is. Are you gathering initial info about your client? Trying to tailor their session to them? Getting feedback after their session? Once you figure out your goal, you’ll have a clearer idea of what to ask. By creating these client questionnaires, you can easily gather info for every step of the client experience from start to finish.
