Blogging: Why is it Neccesary for Photographers?
Meredith Gradle • June 3, 2015

Knowledge is best when shared. This saying applies perfectly to the concept of blogging. Blogging is a great way to connect with people, create opportunities, and develop relationships – but from a photographer’s stand point, it’s even more than that.

As a photographer, you constantly want to be sharing and updating your work. And blogging is absolutely necessary and a big part of running a photography business. By blogging, and then sharing your blogs to your social media sites, like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – you are gradually improving your web presence. Why is this important? Obtaining a good presence on the web will build name recognition, and higher SEO rankings.

Tracking your blog traffic is an easy and smart way to see the fruits of your labor. Try Google Analytics, which is free and more importantly, easy to install. You’ll be able to track the number of visitors, new visitors, time spent on your site, and more – all for free.

If you only choose one thing to do for your business, make it blogging. Blog on a consistent basis, and don’t only share examples of your work, but also share information.
