Don’t Forget to Ask

Julia Daniel, tell us a little about yourself!

Hi, I am Julia Daniel and the face behind the camera. I am a loud laugher and do so often. Generally, I laugh at the stupidest things! I consider myself a weirdo and quite proud of it. Binge watching TV shows is a love of mine! I’m usually watching crime dramas, think Law and Order SVU, or cooking shows like the Great British Baking show. If we were listening to my playlist it would play Panic! at the Disco then The Fray and then move onto Ying Yang twins. I’m a little all over the place but it’s what makes me unique. During normal working hours, I am an engineer and I love it! Statistics and graphs make me happy. I have a loving husband, two boys who are constantly in front of my camera and a fluffy puppy Captain.

How did you first get started in photography?

I have been taking photos my entire life! From my childhood, I have photos in my baby books I took around 4 of my Barbies and stuffed animals all posed for their photos. I got my bigger cameras when my boys were born. It was then that I realized how quickly children grew up and wanted to ensure others had those moments captured before they disappeared.

How has using Iris impacted your business?

I have been using Iris for 4 months. It has changed EVERYTHING!! I build systems for my day job and having a system that works like this for my photography has been life changing. I took the leap and paid for a year and already it has paid for itself 10 times. My favorite features are the workflows.

What are your future goals for your business? What are you looking forward to?

I want to continue to grow in my art and connecting to other photographers. I want to be able to show others that you can have two loves. You can be creative and artistic and still love numbers and science.

If you could go back to when you first started in photography, what advice would you give yourself?

Stop doubting yourself!!! If you truly love your work then others will see it.
